I have written a poem, which is a strange activity for someone who doesn’t really like poetry, despite the fact I teach it – this is probably agitprop anyway.
Don’t ask us to die - ask them to justify Infection, injection - election. A gamble with the herd Betting the farm on science success, Using the NHS. Don’t ask us to die - ask them to justify The herd won’t be heard Not without breath. Hoping the patients won't tell, Leaving the medics in hell Don’t ask us to die - ask them to justify Lockdown, fall down, party down Masks don’t last. People look to the past - Fail, might - not be right. Don’t ask us to die - ask them to justify Patience and politicians, Patients, impatient. New normal, formal funeral.
